Beginning the 'head' task...

The 'model your head' task is underway. I have started to follow the video guides on the link that Richard provided for us. So far it is going well and I will start to come in extra hours to make sure it gets done in the time given.

To start with, I had to take a photograph front on and from the side of my head. Then open the images in Photoshop and begin to align all of the features from both images. I also removed the 'bulged' effect that the camera gave to make the image look more natural.

Once this was done I began to draw guidelines on the image in blue pen then the quads in red pen. This was to mark all of the noticeable lines, features and extremities of the face that will need to be modelled. I found this quite difficult as the red 'quads' had to stay square. I kept coming to a point and creating triangles.

Overall I think the progress so far is going well.

Brief veiws

This is the first lecture for Virtual enviroments with Richard Barnes.

We have been given the briefs and discovered that we will be modelling our own heads for the first part of the semester. This sounds very interesting and will put our skills to use that we learnt in the last semester. So far photos have been taken of our faces (front on and profile veiw) and now we will begin to align all the facial features in photoshop.

Later on in the semester we will begin to work in groups. This will be working for a real life client. I am fairly apprehensive on how this will work out.

Overall I can't wait to begin after the long summer!
